My new art studio...

Just a short post to show you the progress on my new studio. First off, I was right, the lighting in here is great, and the extra space is a dream come true! I wasn't sure about the red wall, it was my daughters choice when we redid her room a few years back, but it matches the rug and adds a certain warmth to the room, so I decided to keep it. If I find the color too disturbing, I can always repaint later, it is only one wall...
My work table is all ready to go, covered in a sheet of builders paper from Home Depot. I love this stuff, only $11 a 35" X 140' roll, it should last a good long time. It lets me use the table top for a palette and a place to practice brush marks and stampings before I try them on the actual piece. Can you see the huge atlas standing up on the right hand side? I picked it up at a church sale for a dime, and plan to make it into my first art journal. I love the maps as backgrounds for my pages...
Starting to fill the shelves with baskets and totes. I found this black wooden toolbox left behind in a rental, and it is perfect for the things I use most and want close to hand...
Here is an old dresser that my good friend sold me, it was kinda ugly, but a coat of paint really spruced it up! It holds all my canvases, paints, and mark makers. I love putting all the pens and markers in pretty vintage glass vases and ceramic bowls, I have been collecting them for years and now they have a purpose...the red wire dress form was a yard sale find and included just for fun!
This will be the business section, where I do all my online social media connecting, the desk also has a hanging file drawer, so I can sort and organize all the pictures, photos and articles that I have gathered over the years...
Well, that's it so far, I am eager to finish and get started creating in my new studio, I already have a canvas laid out and I plan to work the background today. Thanks for taking the tour, hope you can carve out a space for you and your creative endeavours!
