When this blog hop was suggested, I immediately knew I what I would write about. You see, we just got home from a very sunny place, in fact, we spent the winter there, basking and exploring and shopping. I wore these sandals the whole time, and except for some evenings, and a couple rougher hikes, they were perfect! I already have tan lines on my feet in a kind of arrow shape...It was wonderful, but it had to end. I insisted on coming home the beginning of March, much against the advice of the veteran snow-birders we were visiting with.
"Wait until April!"
"It's still cold back home."
"You will run into bad weather, it's dangerous!"
I heard all the arguments. But I insisted, after all, we are not yet retired, and things had been on hold long enough. So home we came, into the cold, wet and yes...snow! Every morning, Mr. How2 looks out the window and if there is anything but sunshine and blue skies, he grumbles, gives me an accusing glare, and stalks off to make the coffee. He can only be appeased with promises to go again next year.
So here is my Shoe Shot, standing out in our cold, dead yard among last years leaves. My poor little freezing toes are still sporting the remnants of the pretty copper orange nail polish that was so much more appropriate in warmer weather. But no worries, the sun pops up now and again, the tulips are already poking out through their winter cover, and the roads are clear of ice. The worst is over, and that was our plan all along. Until next time...enjoy!

ReplyDeletePoor dear! Hope you warm up soon!
ReplyDeleteYour shoes do look comfy, but definitely not warm. Hope your toes warmed up quickly! Where have you been where you were able to wear these sandals? We have just spent our 7th winter in Florida and will be heading north in a couple more weeks.
ReplyDeleteCute, comfy looking shoes!
ReplyDeleteAh, sandals! There's nothing like those first few days of sandal weather!
ReplyDeleteThey ARE the most comfy sandals I have had, and I usually HATE anything between my toes...The best part is, I picked them up at the Good Will for under $6, and they are a good solid brand that should last a while. Carol, we were in the Yuma, AZ Foothills area, and this is our first year skipping winter. The whole place is pretty much all snow-birders, and as I understand it, there will only be about one couple per block after April 1st...strange concept, but I really did love the warmth. I just need more space to work next time. Do you bring an RV or do you have a house in Florida?
ReplyDeleteGreat sandals and a bargain! Can't beat that!
ReplyDeleteNo, you sure can't! lol
DeleteThe look like Clarks..my favorite summertime shoes!
ReplyDeleteNope, Lori, they are Naturalizers. I have never tried Clarks, I will check them out...
DeleteGlad you are home safe and sound, and hopefully you are still able to wear your sandals!! Our March has been like summer!!
ReplyDeleteLucky you, having a warm March! I still can't wear my sandals, but the robins were back when we got home, and the tulips are starting to bloom!

ReplyDeleteThanks Lori, it is good to be home, but it is still awfully cold!

DeleteI live in sandals like this most of the time. Since I live in Texas,, they can usually even get me through most of the winter.
