Watercolor Inchie and a Background Doodle...

Today is Every Inchie Monday, the theme is "dance" and I just happen to be playing with my watercolor paints, so...I continue to be challenged by these tiny little treasures, but I do have fun with them. If you would like to see all the art work for EIM, please check out this site!

This is a doodle background I created using acrylic paint, stencils, oil pastels and sharpies. You can never have too many backgrounds in mixed media art, and they are a wonderful free playtime in your studio. Meaning I don't sweat the finished product, I just play with color and design, adding layer after layer until something tells me to stop. After this is scanned in, it can be used in many different projects, including ATC and canvas art. I love having a collection of my own papers to play with, it ensures that my own personality is showing up in my work. Until next time...enjoy!

    1. Ginny, go for it! I haven't dragged out my watercolors in years, but they are so quick and simple to play with, and they travel so well, I really feel a push to get them out and wet again! Thanks for commenting!

  3. Very nice dance inchie. The variety of interpretations of each theme are fascinating, aren't they?

    I do hope you will join so many of us in removing your 'word verification' status - it really is a nuisance, and discourages comments :{

    1. Hello kaybee, Thank you for commenting. Yes there always is a huge variety of interpretations, I make sure I don't look at the others first, so I am not influenced in my own. As for the word verification, silly me, I didn't even know you could turn that off, but it is now. Thanks for letting me know!

  4. Such a sweet little inchie.

    Your inchies are looking marvelous. I've been swamped at work but I'm all caught up now and put my Inchies on my blog.

  5. They are both great, Sally. Inchies intrigue me, but I can't even get to the stuff on my plate now, so they will have to wait!

    1. Janet, you do have a lot on your plate, I don't blame you a bit for saying no to some things. We would be completely drained if we said yes all the time, I need to practice saying no more often. But the inchies are pure fun for me, just like the ATC in our Flygirls group, they are more about "me" time than anything else I do...Thanks for commenting!
